PRP Hair Restoration

PRP uses the remarkable healing powers found in the platelets and stem cells in your blood. PRP has been effectively used by our certified professionals for facial rejuvenation, to improve joint health, and for sexual wellness issues. Now, PRP is proving to be a breakthrough therapy for hair restoration!

The PRP for Hair Restoration Procedure:
As in any PRP procedure, we begin your PRP therapy for hair loss with a small sample of your blood. A specialized centrifuge is used to harvest the platelets and stem cells by removing them from your white and red blood cells.
Platelets are unique kinds of blood cells that your body uses to heal damaged tissue. You may know that platelets are what allows your blood to clot, and form a scab when you cut yourself. But, that is only a small part of the healing process. Platelets also stimulate the growth of new cells. PRP also contains stem cells and specialized proteins or “growth factors” that accelerate
healing.

When we prepare PRP for your hair loss treatment, those growth factors, along with stem cells, get concentrated into an injectable solution. Anywhere that PRP is injected, your body reacts as if an injury has taken place. Blood flow to the injection site immediately improves, and new cells start to grow. That is why PRP is used regularly to speed healing in damaged joint and sports-related injuries. It is also the same reason it is used in aesthetic procedures, such as non-surgical facelifts. Some doctors are experimenting with a topical application of a PRP gel to the hair and scalp; however, we see measurable results with PRP injections.

How Does PRP Thicken Hair?

In the case of PRP for hair restoration, the PRP injection increases the blood supply to the hair follicles. The increased blood flow delivers more nutrients to the follicle cells. These nutrients, in turn, makes them stronger, healthier and more active. More active hair follicles result in increased hair growth, and thicker, stronger hair. PRP stimulates stem cells within the scalp to grow more hair.

What Kind of Results Can I Expect from PRP for Hair Loss?

In clinical trials, PRP injections have shown to provide better and longer lasting results than drugs such as minoxidil for the treatment of androgenetic alopecia, also-called “male pattern
baldness.” As with any medical procedure, individual results will vary, but we have gotten outstanding results with PRP and thinning hair. PRP is safe, effective, and has little or no known side effects. As opposed to other more invasive hair loss treatments, PRP:

Is drug-free and surgery-free

Is a simple in-office procedure, with each treatment taking only 60 to 90 minutes

Provides natural-looking results PRP can help you to get back the self-confidence that comes with a full head of hair.
