Dr. Betancourt is a fully licensed, triple board-certified Osteopathic Physician practicing in the State of Florida. His primary specialty is in Family Medicine and Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment with subspecialties in Sports Medicine, Geriatric Medicine, Urgent Care, and Wound Care. His three board certifications are in: Family Medicine and Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment, Sports Medicine, and Geriatric Medicine.
He received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Miami in 2004 and his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Nova Southeastern University – College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2010 followed by a Master of Public Health degree in 2018.
Dr. Betancourt completed a 3-year residency in Family Medicine at Larkin Community Hospital in South Miami from 2010 to 2013 followed by a 1-year fellowship in Sport Medicine at Nova Southeastern University from 2013 to 2014, and finally a 1-year fellowship in Geriatric Medicine at Broward Health Medical Center from 2014 to 2015.
He is a Diplomate of both the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians (AOBFP) and the American Osteopathic Academy of Sports Medicine (AOASM). Additionally, he is a Certified Alzheimer’s Educator (CAEd), a Certified Alzheimer’s Caregiver (CAC), and a Certified Relocation and Transition Specialist (CRTS).
As an Osteopathic Physician and Public Health expert, Dr. Betancourt is a strong proponent of health promotion and disease prevention, and wholeheartedly believes in the saying that “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.”
